It is a known fact that every person living on earth today is a winner. We are the sperm that won the battle of fertilisation of our mother’s egg, either in the womb or test tube. Also, we all agree that our DNA is unique and imbued with a primary trait that will sustain us on earth. The ability of the primary gift to sustain us depends on the environment we find ourselves in at birth and the total influence of our environment on our mind and belief system. Our destiny is determined by the human mind. The quality of knowledge, facts and ideas fed repeatedly by the environment into the conscious mind is downloaded to the subconscious mind to operate our destiny.

Therefore, everyone is born with the opportunity to develop their primary gifts which will make them entrepreneurs, but this is to the levels they are shaped by the quality of knowledge, understanding and the environmental stimuli received into our subconscious mind. When those qualities that enhance entrepreneurship are absorbed into the mind repeatedly throughout growth, the trait of entrepreneurship is stimulated through conviction and a belief system into action. So the child sees opportunities for self-actualisation through business ventures and problem-solving.

No two children born of the same parents and nurtured in the same environment are fed the same software. They are born at different periods, grow up at different rates, and grow up in different locations in the same environment, but receive different signals from their parents that make up their belief system. They grow up with different convictions and different views of the world. That is why the primary gifts which may have become latent due to lack of use have to be stirred up through reprogramming of information sources, discipline, and other life tools and learning soft skills through experiences of environmental factors. The reprogramming creates and awakens the lost entrepreneur traits, but most often it is too late.
A Young Entrepreneur Who Wants To Be Great Must Transform The mind

The earth is filled with treasure, and it is a reservoir of wealth and riches. Every human came to this earth with a primary ability and gift for the service of humanity. No one is useless. Entrepreneurship is one of the ways of exploiting treasures and wealth, while the primary gifts and learned abilities make all creatures unique. When a young entrepreneur emerges with conviction and faith, hope, love and charity direct the exploitation of earth resources, through the building of business ventures. The primary purpose of entrepreneurship is to manage the treasures of the earth’s resources for the benefit of humanity.

The mind of man is the operating engine of entrepreneurship, and the belief system is the secret to greatness. Therefore, for young entrepreneurs to be great, they must be transformed into a mindset that makes them custodians of earth resources and not owners. There is the conscious and subconscious mind. The conscious mind is like the desktop and the subconscious is the hard drive of the computer. To transform the operating system of the computer, the software of the hard drive must be changed. In the same way, the subconscious mindset must be changed through the type of knowledge and belief system that is allowed into the mind. Continuous intake of entrepreneurial knowledge, understanding and wisdom, followed by networking with successful entrepreneurs the change of mindset can be achieved.

Entrepreneurs do not see with their eyes, they see by their beliefs. The mind visualizes the needs of society, acquires knowledge behind the identified needs and deciphers the guidelines and operating standards to develop an understanding of how to use the knowledge to solve the identified problems. Entrepreneurs can only operate and develop a business venture with a changed mindset, by the application of knowledge and understanding of the problem.

The transformed mindset has profound responsibilities that demand the sustainable management of the goods and services required to solve human problems and increase the quality of life on earth. No matter the circumstances, the entrepreneur’s mindset must not freeze the energy to see opportunities around society.

All humans are born winners, but we must win life’s game. If a student hates the teacher, they will probably struggle. If citizens hate their nation, their minds will mask the best treasures the nation can offer. Greatness comes when the young entrepreneur wins the mind through transformation and change of habits. For greatness to be sustainable, the young entrepreneur should be the boss by their own state of mind.
Nothing is Permanent In This World

I copied this article long ago from an unknown source. Every time it reminds me of my passion for entrepreneurship and the notion that I am in control of everything.

When wisdom came I realised that until I embrace change, I have not lived. Change is the only permanent thing on earth. The story below has not been changed or modified. It tells the intended story and I hope it leads the young entrepreneur to serve rather than pursue money and profit. The fruits of the exploit of earth’s treasure is not for self but for others.

“I visited my 120years old grandmother and gave her some money when I was leaving and she told me she doesn’t need money again. That she can no longer buy or sell at her age, so I should give the money to the younger ones who need it.

I also have a former governor friend whom I worked with as a greenhorn journalist. He was governor from 1999-2007. Not too long ago, I saw him. After check-in, he was left seated by the corner of the Murtala Mohammed international airport awaiting his flight. No one even recognized him again, not even passengers from the State where he was governor, and as I walked up to him and greeted him, then asked if he wanted any assistance, he stretched forth his trembling hands to hold me and simply said, “Thank you for even recognizing me again. I just want your attention briefly my son. Sit down let me ask you something. How is Governor Ayade doing?”

I also have a retired Major General friend whom I served as a golf caddy at the NDA golf course in Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna. He was so rich he built a beautiful house he was so proud of. I visited him too not long ago and wanted us to climb to our favourite spot on his balcony upstairs. He stared at me with a broad smile and said, “Jally, I can’t remember the year I went up there. It is lizards and cobwebs and the likes that live there now. Even the kids, when they come, they don’t enjoy my company in the house any more than a few hours and they are gone. I don’t have the limbs to climb up there again and the cost of cleaning keeps getting higher.”

I have seen a lot more things. How yesterday became the day before, how today became yesterday, and how tomorrow became today. How the past became history, how the present became the past, and how the future became the present. Nothing ever remains where it is. Your strength, your muscles, your beauty, your wealth, your guts, your worth, your courage, your talent, your YOU, will progressively diminish until it returns to its source. The richest man in the world in the 1960s will be on the payroll of the richest man in the world today.

Even the strongest lion in the jungle will someday become weak, and frail and be eaten by the same predators it once terrorized.

Keep that in mind always and know that no matter how appealing and tempting that thing may seem, our interest in it will diminish with time. Our strength to consume or own it will vanish with time until everything is surely taken away from us or we are surely taken away from everything.”
Attributes That Will Sustain A Young Entrepreneur

The aspiration of youth to become an entrepreneur stems from a burning passion to offer one’s skill and energy to make the world a better place. A personal invitation to follow this risky path of entrepreneurship requires knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The young entrepreneur must incorporate life-sustaining attributes such as faith and conviction, hope for a better world and charity and love for humanity for a successful venture.

Faith And Conviction

When youths have faith in entrepreneurship, they develop a mindset that makes the subconscious mind see only possibilities. These convictions energise the mind to develop and imagine the solutions the venture hopes to provide. Faith in the venture provides evidence of things not seen until it becomes a reality in the mind of the young entrepreneur. Yet the subconscious mind will tell the young entrepreneur that there are standard operating procedures for the achievement of reality being seen by faith. Visualising the standard operating procedure is the understanding of the venture. The conviction in the process and procedure produces confidence in the development of prototypes for the venture.

Faith and conviction are principles of power, and entrepreneurs work by the power of the mind. Doubt and fear of failure disappear because of the strong conviction and the ability of the mind to visualise and create the business.

Hope

Hope is the abiding trust that the processes and procedures visualised in the subconscious mind are possible. This vision becomes manifest in confidence, optimism, peace and patience. The young entrepreneur believes that something will occur. When there is hope, entrepreneurs go through trials and difficulties with trust and faith. That implies that all things are transforming to bring the venture to reality. Hope helps the young entrepreneur conquer discouragement. Hope describes the assurance that the proposed venture will succeed and multiply.

The young entrepreneur must learn to press forward with steadfastness and hope for the proposed venture to become a reality. Hope propels action and is the beginning of the physicalisation of a business venture.

Charity and love

Charity is pure love for the prosperity of humanity. It includes boundless love for innovation and creativity. When young entrepreneurs develop that kind of love for humanity, using their natural gifts for the service of humanity is love.

The young entrepreneur must avoid negative feelings such as anger, envy, greed and lust. They must develop the attributes of patience and endurance, hard work and consistency, and discipline and diligence. These positive traits are learned, and it helps through the challenging situations in entrepreneurship. Young entrepreneurs will develop charity as they look for opportunities to serve others and give of themselves.
Life Skills Children Must Possess To Become Entrepreneurs.

Every person on earth is imbued with personality traits, aptitudes and skills that make them unique. Some of these attributes are natural while others are learned, but they all work together to help us achieve our purpose in the world. Children spend years in school learning some of these skills and preparing themselves for a career or for entrepreneurship.

Parents and mentors want their wards to survive the challenges of life through to adulthood. Being, successful is not about academic or financial performance but is related to fulfilment, joy and happiness in life. Therefore parents must focus on equipping their children with the required life skills to be successful.

Life skills refer to the “abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to cope with the demands and challenges of everyday life.” It is a combination of emotional, social, and cognitive abilities. However, cognitive-based life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, goal-setting and time management bring more purpose and order into the children’s daily and future life. Also, emotional intelligence is crucial to forming healthy relationships in their lives.

The goal is for the children to become well-adjusted, responsible, and positive-minded adults. This process begins at home and parents and mentors, have the responsibility to teach these essential skills to their children and model them consistently until they become part of their children’s habits and frame of mind.

This implies that children need to be proficient in varied abilities to navigate the technologically advanced and globalized world and the emerging Gig economy.
Why Motivate Children To Become Entrepreneurs.

With increased digital knowledge and its incorporation into the business world, the future workforce will face challenges and opportunities. Consequently, it is imperative that we prepare our children for these forthcoming changes. Different versions of Gig economies, short-time contracts, freelancing, and various concepts will gain momentum in the global workforce. Scholarly research shows there is a possibility of less than 10% of full-time jobs being available in the next decade. Therefore, an entrepreneurial mindset has become the absolute need of the hour. An entrepreneur is a person who organizes, operates and assumes the risk of a business venture while transforming ideas into a profitable solution that solves the problem of society. The present digital and information age is moving the world towards the Gig economy, where everyone will become a business owner and own side jobs besides their primary jobs. Therefore, knowing how to run a business is critical for the survival and existence of humanity. Acquiring entrepreneurial knowledge will offer children and youths more options in life. Though being an entrepreneur is not for everyone, it will be good for the children to have options and have more freedom of career choice as they grow up to adulthood. In cases where a parent is uninterested in entrepreneurship, the children may not learn how to become self-employed and establish independence from their parents. It is obvious that these types of parents will not serve as good role models for their children entrepreneurs. Recent studies have shown that children and youth entrepreneurship education are the most crucial tool for growth, innovation, and creativity development in the competitive world of the Gig economy. Teaching and mentoring children and youths in entrepreneurship and innovation enhance the analytical and logical skills that enable them to solve problems. Exposure of children and youth to entrepreneurship also provides financial and digital literacy, teamwork and network skills, creativity, and communication skills that are needed to thrive in the new economy while helping their communities prosper. Parents and mentors who prepare their children early for the world of entrepreneurship will certainly be ahead of the game. Hence, the goal of this blog is to justify why a guide for parents or mentors, seeking knowledge about how to raise a child entrepreneur is very important at this time. This blog is further aimed at providing the ingredients and nuggets needed by parents and mentors for transforming a child’s mindset into that of an entrepreneur.
